Talk by Dulcie Smart: The Sound Inside
Dulcie Smart is a New Zealand-born actress – working out of Berlin, Germany and Melbourne, Australia. She began her career as a stage actress playing lead roles in Shakespeare and Chekhov as well as in contemporary drama by e.g. David Hare, Caryl Churchill, Sam Shepard, Louis Nowra, and Lanford Wilson in Wellington. She moved to Germany in the early 1990s and has played a broad range of roles in film and TV, working with directors including the Wachowskis, Tom Tykwer, Margarethe von Trotta and Mike Newell, as well as in theatre productions in Berlin and London.
Dulcie returns to Wellington to perform at Circa in “The Sound Inside“, which will run from Saturday, 5 July, to Saturday, 2 August 2025.
